2/5 Stars If the sleek stainless look of the CASABREWS CM5418 lured you in, prepare for some harsh truths. This is another “espresso-styled appliance” that tries hard but delivers little more than warm disappointment.

What kind of works
- Cheap price tag puts it within reach if you’re feeling impulsive.
- Stainless steel facade makes it look the part—at least until you find yourself touching plastic inside.
- 20-bar sticker and gauge scream “barista,” but that doesn’t mean they deliver.
What really sucks
- Shots are weak and lifeless: That 20-bar pump can’t keep water hot enough for real extraction.
- Temperature all over the place: One shot is burnt, the next is underdone—never a steady brew.
- Steam wand is a sad joke: You get a lame froth, not microfoam or latte art vibes.
- Zero mod potential: No PID install, gasket swaps, or anything—this thing is landfill bait.
- Flimsy internals: Cheap plastics rattle and leak after a few uses.
A faint maybe?
Only if you’re broke, curious, or desperate for caffeine. Otherwise, you’d be better off saving for a moka pot, AeroPress, or a used classic like a Gaggia — all of which make better coffee and hold value.
